I’m interrupting my self-imposed blogging break to post a vlog. Yes, you read that correctly: I recorded a video of myself. Ahh!
Carin from A Little Bookish has been trying to convince me that I should not be shy and give vlogging a try. To try and convince me (and a few other non-native English speakers) to speak English, she is now doing a series of vlogs in which she speaks non-English languages. Or well.. she will once international bloggers record some lines for her to say. She recently did a vlog on Marmite/Vegemite and spoke Australian, which was so funny and great that it convinced me I should finally cave and give Carin what she wants.
So, this is me. Speaking English. I might sound a little soft because I was trying not to shout so that the people in my corridor wouldn’t hear. And also, I tend to speak at a low volume anyway. There is some funny lighting because it is quite dark here and I haven’t found the perfect position to place my desk lamp in when recording a video. I talk about the books I’ve bought in Sweden, I teach Carin how to say “Hi, how are you?” in Dutch (which I say way too fast for her to follow, I guess. Sorry about that, I was nervous!) and I show you some Sinterklaas candy. Yes, it is random. Maybe too much? But I don’t want to back down now.
