Even though the burning of the Koran seems to have been called off (or is it? I can’t seem to keep up with the changing opinions on this one), I still want to share this Librarything initiative because I like the idea so much: An Impromptu Interfaith Solidarity Readathing that is being held this Saturday. There is never too much reading about each other’s religion going on, so please consider joining.
Current Thoughts
Books:
The TBR pile is teasing me and distracting me from other reading plans. It keeps whispering that there is a whole library at home, so why go out and buy or loan other books? But it is so hard to resist! One of these days I need a proper resolution for the mountains of TBR books.Music: The Veils (my all-time-favourite, you-have-to-listen-to-this, or-better-yet-go-see-them-live, band) has released their new album "Time Stays, We Go". It is as good, perhaps even better, than their previous three.
Other: Life is incredibly busy lately, which means that I cannot be on the internet as regularly as I'd like. Apologies if your comment and/or email has not received a prompt reply: I aim to catch up soon.

I have recently read Sweetness in the Belly and Palace Walk, both give a fantastic postive insight into the Muslim faith. I highly recommend both books and hope that your interfaith reading event brings a bit more tolerance into the world.
I like this idea too, Iris. I’m not able to participate this Saturday, but I’m happy to see such an event taking place.
I love the idea, Iris. I’m not sure I have anything packed with me that will work, but I’m off to check!
What a great idea! Thanks for posting that link. Leave it to readers to bring kindness and open mindedness to a very ugly situation.
Good for everyone who’s doing this, and thank you for posting the link.
Thank you ever so much for passing this on.
As an atheist, I can enter into the spirit of this, if not the word & although I can see that many people may need something in their lives that is covered by “Faith”, its not for me personally. but
I do read books from authors who believe in one faith or another, so can I count Shuzaku Endo (Catholic).
Congrats on the nominations, well deserved.
I really like this idea, and if I had more time right now I would love to participate.
On second thought, I am reading about Islam right now for school (more from a historical perspective than a religious one, though) so maybe that counts.
