In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren. You can find more information about it here.
This week things have returned to normal, which means I do not have tons of books to tell you about. I did however receive two books for review. Which is not all that regular to me.
The book on the left is If I Stay by Gayle Forman. It is the second book I received as part of the Transworld Summer Reading Challenge. I actually already read this one and I will be posting my review somewhere this week.
The book on the right is In His Own Write & A Spaniard In The Works by John Lennon. It was kindly send to me for review by Vintage Books. I am very curious about this book and I hope to read it this week. I already leaved through it a couple of times and it looks interesting.

The Lennon book does look interesting. I love the vintage cover. Looking forward to your review.

I feel like I have heard a lot of good things about the Gayle Forman book, but so farI haven’t had a chance to read anything by the author. I aam very curious about what kind of books Lennon would write. I think I knew that he was author, but this is the first I am hearing of this book.
If I Stay is Gayle Forman’s first book, as far as I know. It’s a beautiful and haunting story and a short read (at 200~ pages). You should definitely pick this up. Many people have said this is a book that can be read in one sitting. Now, I cannot do one thing for more than an hour, so I read this in a few rounds. It left me wanting more, and luckily there is going to be more.
Where She Went is coming out 2011, which will be set 3 years after the events in If I Stay.
I actually didn’t enjoy If I Stay that much as most others seem to do. However, I would be interested in reading what happens 3 years on.
I’ve got a copy of If I Stay on my desk, I was meaning to read it a few weeks ago. Looking forward to your review! I didn’t know Lennon had written material for a book.
Happy reading this week. Looking forward to your review of If I Stay.
I’ll look forward to your thoughts on If I Stay as I’ve just reviewed that one for the Transworld challenge too. And I hope you enjoy the Lennon book. I love the cover!
I couldn’t get into If I Stay. I won it last summer but never managed to read more than 20 pages or so. Ah well. I hope you like it better than I did!!
Interesting looking books, can’t wait to hear your thoughts on both!
I really, really liked If I Stay.
